FAQs – frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about our premium worktops, materials, finishes, and design coordination. Learn how to select, maintain, and customize the perfect worktop solution for your luxury kitchen.

What are the best worktop materials for modern kitchens?

The best worktop materials combine durability, aesthetics, and functionality. Our premium selection includes engineered stone, natural stone, wood finishes, and composite surfaces. Each material offers unique benefits: stone provides luxury and durability, wood adds warmth, while composites offer versatility. Choose based on your lifestyle, design preference, and maintenance requirements.

How do I choose the right worktop finish for my kitchen design?

Consider three key factors: visual style (matte, glossy, textured), color coordination with your cabinetry, and practical maintenance. Our 60+ finishes range from wood textures to concrete and marble looks. Neutral tones (greys, whites, beiges) complement modern designs, while warmer tones add character. Visit our showroom or use our design consultation service for personalized recommendations.

What's the difference between matte and glossy worktop finishes?

Matte finishes offer a sophisticated, understated appearance with excellent grip and hide fingerprints well. Glossy finishes create a sleek, contemporary look with reflective surfaces that amplify light, though they require more frequent cleaning. Both are available across all our material options.

Are custom-made worktops available for unique kitchen layouts?

Yes. Our bespoke worktop service delivers custom-made solutions for any kitchen dimension or shape. Whether you need standard rectangular tops or complex curved designs, our German engineering precision ensures flawless execution. Contact our design team for a consultation.

How durable are engineered stone worktops compared to natural stone?

Engineered stone (quartz composites) offers superior durability with greater resistance to scratches, stains, and heat than many natural stones. It’s non-porous, requiring minimal maintenance, while natural stone offers timeless aesthetics but needs regular sealing. Both are premium options; choice depends on lifestyle and aesthetic preference.

What worktop colors work best with dark cabinetry?

Light to mid-tone worktops create stunning contrast with dark cabinets: whites, light greys, marble effects, and natural wood tones are ideal. This pairing maximizes visual impact and creates a sophisticated, balanced aesthetic. Alternatively, matching dark tones create a seamless, contemporary look.

How do I maintain and care for premium worktops?

Maintenance varies by material. Stone surfaces: use pH-neutral cleaners and avoid acidic substances. Wood finishes: wipe spills immediately and use wood-specific care products. Composite surfaces: simple soap and water suffice. Avoid excessive heat exposure and use chopping boards and trivets to protect all surfaces.

Can worktop finishes be coordinated with cabinet and backsplash options?

Absolutely. Our design philosophy emphasizes cohesive coordination across all kitchen elements. Our consultants help match worktop finishes with cabinet colors, paint options, and decorative elements to create a unified aesthetic. View our design combinations for inspiration.

What is the lead time for custom worktops?

Standard worktops typically have 4-6 week lead times, while custom designs may require 8-12 weeks depending on complexity. Contact our team for specific timelines on your project.
